California Gov. Gavin Newsom delivered remarks at his daily coronavirus press conference on Tuesday. Watch a recording of the livestream of the event by clicking on the video below:

Newsom on Monday announced that four other state governors have joined him in asking the federal government for $1 trillion in aid for states stricken by the coronavirus. California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon and Washington’s governors have sent a letter to congressional leaders, saying that aid is necessary for states to be able to continue paying public health and safety workers, as well as teachers.
