One World global concert to support COVID-19 efforts sets record: See performances

Guinness World Records announced Wednesday that the global broadcast special “One World: Together at Home” set records for most musical acts to perform at a remote music festival and most money raised for charity by a remote music festival.

The organization released video clips of the performances. (See the video above).

One World took place April 18, 2020, co-hosted by the World Health Organization and Global Citizen.

During the eight-hour event “to honor, inspire and support frontline healthcare workers and bring families together,” according to Guiness, 72 artists performed or spoke from across the world, including Lady Gaga, Elton John, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift.

Oprah Winfrey, WHO director Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and former first ladies Laura Bush and Michelle Obama spoke.

The effort raised nearly $128 million in commitments to support efforts by the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization, as well as regional foundations, Guinness said.
