Davis Taco Bell closes after employee tests positive for COVID-19

A Davis Taco Bell on Chiles Road has closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, the company confirmed Thursday.

The location will be closed for an unknown period of time so it can be cleaned and sanitized. Team members who were exposed to the infected employee have been removed from the work schedule and have been told to self quarantine, the company told the Bee via email.

“Ensuring the health and well-being of our team members and our customers is our highest priority and we encourage customers to learn more about Taco Bell’s commitment to safety on our website,” the statement said.

The company did not say when the location will reopen. When the operator of the location was made aware of the positive case, the franchisee worked with Taco Bell and local health officials to determine the next steps, the company’s statement said.
