We want to honor Latino change makers in Sacramento. Help us by nominating community leaders
Latino community leaders transform Sacramento everyday with their vision, initiative and creativity. These contributions span many fields, but the leaders share a common goal: a commitment to lifting up Sacramento and their communities.
It’s long overdue that we begin honoring these leaders.
The Sacramento Bee’s Equity Lab, in partnership with the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program (NELP), is now accepting nominations for its inaugural class of Top 25 Latino Change Makers in the Sacramento region. It follows the partnership’s Top 25 Black Change Makers, and our upcoming AAPI Change Makers.
The goal is to identify, elevate and empower Latinos in the region who are responsible for creating change and demonstrating leadership through their actions.
Nominations will be open until Nov. 3 All finalists will be evaluated by a panel from the Bee’s Equity Lab, NELP and outside judges.
Candidates should:
- Identify: As Latino, Latina, Latinx, Latine, Hispanic, AfroLatino/a or Indigenous.
- And embody community transformation: We’re looking for innovative problem solvers who are finding solutions to critical issues through community organization, education, arts and entertainment, writing, entrepreneurship, law, medicine and health care, science, politics, nonprofit leadership or activism.
You can submit your nomination here.
