Your Sacramento weekend guide, ‘BlackInSac’, returns with a lineup of events
Your weekend guide to enjoy community events, the nightlife and entertainment scene in Sacramento has returned.
Back by popular demand is ‘BlackInSac’. These events are influenced by African-American or Black culture, and in most cases, are curated or hosted by Sacramentans who represent the African diaspora.
We welcome submissions are always welcome through this Google Form, or by contacting us with a direct message on social media.
Remember to be respectful of others and responsible during your outings. Make sure to coordinate a designated driver if your event includes alcohol or marijuana.
Dinner at Tiger
Dinner at Tiger by Last Supper Society is happening on Fridays and Saturdays at 722 K Street. It is a private, reservation-only dinner.
The menu is titled “Sacramento Cuisine’‘ because the featured items are farmed locally and made in-house, from scratch. The food is diverse as it takes inspiration from various ethnic groups, a true representation of Sacramento. The dinner will include a live show from local talents, The Band Hayez and Jamal Tru.
The Last Supper Society is not accepting cash payments at this time, credit and debit only. Reservations can be made for up to five people.
Sacramento Silent Skate Night
The skate culture in Sacramento is buzzing with DJ GA presenting Sacramento Silent Skate Night at Roller King Roller Rink on Friday from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.
The venue is located at 889 Riverside Avenue, in Roseville.
The event is for ages 18 and up. Tickets are $19 for presale and increase to $26 at the door. Tickets include skate rentals, be sure to bring a friend.
You can expect to see some of your favorite DJs such as: DJ GA, DJ Daan, DJ Fiji, DJ Goofy Q, DJ Ignacia, DO Yodeci, and DJ Don P curating sounds all night.

2nd Saturdays at Florin Square
A free community event takes place every second Saturday at Florin Square. This week showcases a special Valentine’s Day performance, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
They will be featuring Marcel Smith, Bob Jones, and the Chosen Few.

Love in February
The “Love in February” Saturday event is a sip and paint experience serving as a tribute to Black love.
It is a two-session, virtual event featuring a motion picture.
The first session begins at 3 p.m. and will be showing Love Jones. The next session will show Boomerang beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
For full participation you will need to pre-purchase an art supply kit from your local Michael’s.
Golden Bear
Every second Saturday of the month at Golden Bear, located at 2326 K Street, DJ Shino Smoke is spinning and collaborating with other DJs to create a special musical experience.
This week, he’s bringing Derrick Thomas to be his first guest of his ongoing series.
Join them in the back bar, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Herf Cigar Lounge Super Bowl Party
Herf Cigar Lounge is hosting a Super Bowl Party with food, beverages, and fun. The game will be shown indoors and outdoors.
Herf Cigar Lounge is located at 900 2nd Street, the doors open at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $50, which covers food, beverages, and a premium cigar. They expect to serve ribs, hot links, hamburgers, seafood, and different side dishes.

‘Love is a work of Heart’
Colo’s Soul Food Restaurant, located at 2326 Del Paso Boulevard, is hosting a romantic candlelight dinner Monday night for Valentine’s Day.
Saxophonist, Shawn Raiford, will be playing throughout the night. The dinner features an option of filet mignon or grilled chicken, accompanied by side dishes, and concluded with dessert.

V-Day 3000
This Monday, Freequency, a local DJ and playlist curator, is hosting Valentine’s Day at Ro Sham Beaux from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m, in an event called V-Day 3000.
Bring a date and enjoy food by The Edifice from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
You can expect an intangible experience that showcases energy and the key elements of love.
