7-year-old from California found safe after authorities issue alert for his disappearance

A 7-year-old Northern California boy who went missing with his father was found safe in Susanville, according to authorities.

The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office had issued an alert asking the public’s assistance in locating the boy, who was last seen with his dad around 2 a.m. Saturday in Red Bluff.

In an update Saturday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office said he had been located around 3 p.m. in Susanville, and his father had been taken into custody.

No other information was provided by authorities.
