Sacramento's 26th annual Sweet Potato Festival drew a big crowd Saturday to the Sam and Bonnie Pannell Community Center in Meadowview.

The highlight of the festival: the sweet potato pie contest.

Sweet potato pies and tarts were being sold as a fundraiser by the National Council of Negro Women, which hosts the event.

The festival runs until 4 pm today at the community center, 2450 Meadowview Rd., Sacramento.
