Expect I-80 delays near state line

The state Department of Transportation is alerting motorists to anticipate traffic delays Wednesday on Interstate 80 west of the Nevada state line near the Farad undercrossing in Mystic for slide debris removal. Motorists should anticipate delays as maintenance crews intermittently close both lanes of I-80 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to blast apart boulders too large to remove. Three to five 20-minute closures will be required at different times throughout the day, Caltrans reports.

Harvest dinner at Sacramento High

Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson hosts the annual Seeds of Hope Harvest Dinner from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sacramento High School garden, 2315 34th St. The dinner showcases Sacramento High students and local chefs, including Patrick Mulvaney of Mulvaney’s Building and Loan.
