Today in Sacramento: Here’s what you need to know for Wednesday
Second McCartney concert
The second of two Paul McCartney concerts at the new Golden 1 Center takes place at 8 p.m. The former Beatle, 74, concludes the Sacramento portion of his “One on One” tour. A few higher-priced tickets are available, as of Tuesday afternoon, from Ticketmaster. The NBA’s Sacramento Kings play a preseason game Monday at the new venue. The Kings’ first regular-season game is at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 vs. the San Antonio Spurs.
West Sacramento council meets
The West Sacramento City Council meets at 7 p.m. in council chambers, 1110 W. Capitol Ave. Among the items scheduled to be discussed is consideration of a workshop on parking strategies for the Bridge District. Go to www.cityofwestsacramento.org for more information.
City Council convenes in Roseville
The Roseville City Council is scheduled to discuss possible budget adjustments to the PG&E Community Pipeline Safety Initiative during its meeting, to begin at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers, 311 Vernon St. Go to www.roseville.ca.us for more information.
Paving work on Highway 267
The state Department of Transportation alerts motorists to anticipate traffic delays on Highway 267 at Old Brockway Road and Soaring Way in Truckee for paving operations. Motorists should anticipate delays as maintenance crews will close alternate lanes and use one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and possibly 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday to grind and pave deteriorated and cracked asphalt, Caltrans reports. The California Highway Patrol will assist with traffic control.
