2-year-old twin dies in Citrus Heights
The Citrus Heights Police Department is investigating the death of a 2-year-old child.
The department said officers responded to a report of a child who was not breathing about 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 8000 block of Auburn Boulevard, according to a department news release.
Officers gave the child medical aid until paramedics arrived and continued CPR. The child was taken to a hospital but was later pronounced dead, according to the Police Department.
The police department said that the child was a twin and that both children had an existing medical complication. Investigators were working to determine the cause of death, according to Lt. Jason Russo, a department spokesman.
The name of the child was not released Friday afternoon.
