It will be a dry week in Sacramento until at least Friday when a minor storm system moves into the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will be typical for the season through Monday, then will get warmer until Thursday as highs approach 70. It will likely be sunny for most of the work week.

Friday will bring a slight chance of showers as a system moves from the Pacific Northwest into the area. Forecasters are still unsure how much rain the system will bring.

“It is definitely not an atmospheric river,” said Brooke Bingaman, an NWS forecaster in Sacramento, referring to a storm that drops several inches of rain. “It will bring us some moisture. The models vary on the amount it will be.”
