Monday is expected to be windy with gusts up to 28 mph forecast for the Sacramento region.

Gusty northerly winds are expected to continue into this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. A wind advisory has been issued for much of the valley, including Sacramento.

Forecasters remind motorists to firmly hold onto the steering wheel as driving could be difficult in certain wind-exposed locations.

Clear skies are forecast for much of the week but a chance of showers is forecast for Friday. If any rainfall materialized, it would be the first measurable precipitation since Feb. 9.
