Meeting topic: Highway 50 bridge replacement plans
The state Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting about its plans for a bridge replacement project on Highway 50 over Echo Summit. The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a project presentation at 6 p.m. at the Placerville Town Hall City Council Chambers, 549 Main St. Community members can view displays and ask questions. The project’s draft environmental document is circulating and comment cards will be available. Comments are being accepted until Nov. 18. The bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin in 2019 and take two seasons to complete, Caltrans reports.
Elk Grove council meets
The Elk Grove City Council will discuss, among other topics, an update on the comprehensive operational analysis of the city’s e-tran local and commuter transit service at its meeting at 6 p.m. in City Hall, 8400 Laguna Palms Way.
Roadwork on I-80 near state line
The state Department of Transportation is alerting motorists to anticipate traffic delays on Interstate 80 west of the Nevada state line for roadway maintenance. Motorists should anticipate delays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the right lane of eastbound I-80 as maintenance crews close approximately 3 1/2 miles of roadway west of the Nevada-California state line between Floriston and the Iceland Grade near Boca, Caltrans reports. One freeway lane will remain open. Motorists are advised to plan for additional travel time. Weather or unexpected events may prolong the work, according to Caltrans.
