Long lunch at arena plaza
The Sacramento Kings are hosting the first of a series of what they call “Long Lunch Fridays” starting Friday in the plaza in front of Golden 1 Center arena downtown. Holiday tree lightings in cities
▪ The West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and the city host the annual Community Tree Lighting Celebration from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in front of City Hall, 1110 W. Capitol Ave. The celebration features free refreshments and performances by area youth choirs. Following the arrival of Santa Claus on a firetruck at 6:30 p.m., Mayor Christopher Cabaldon will light the tree. Call 916-371-7042 for more information.

▪ The Historic Folsom Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. in the plaza at the ice skating rink off Historic Sutter Street. There will be live music performances beginning at 6 p.m.. The tree will be lit at 7:30 p.m. There will also be free train rides, Christmas carolers and a visit from Santa Claus. Home tour begins Friday
The 43rd annual Sacred Heart Holiday Home Tour begins a three-day run Friday. Six homes in East Sacramento’s Fabulous Forties neighborhood are featured. The self-guided walking tour begins on 41st Street between M and J streets. Sacred Heart School, 39th and H streets, hosts a boutique and cafe during the tour. Tour times are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Boutique times are 12:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
