Kudos to: Mira Loma High School Team 1 student lawyers

Accomplishment: Won 2015 Sacramento County Moot Court competition

Details: Student attorneys from different schools in competition raised questions about expectation of privacy under the Fourth Amendment for text messages and whether searches of cellphones are permissible. The students prepared and argued a case before a three-judge panel.

Kudos to: Roseville High School cheer squad

Accomplishment: Won first place at JAMZ Cheer and Dance Nationals

Details: Roseville Cheer, with 16 cheerleaders who also cheer on Roseville’s junior varsity and varsity squads, went up against five other teams to take home the Large Varsity all-girl level one championship.

Kudos to: Music Exchange

Accomplishment: Named dealer of the year by Yamaha Corp. of America

Details: Yamaha recognized Music Exchange for outstanding sales and marketing of the musical instrument maker’s pianos. Music Exchange began 40 years ago as a small piano store in Walnut Creek, growing to six stores serving the Bay Area and Sacramento.
