Good morning. Here’s what you need to know today:

Still warm: The weather is forecast to be abnormally warm and mostly sunny today in the Sacramento region. The high temperature in Sacramento is expected to be about 10 degrees above the normal of 66 degrees.

Salute for deputy: Deputy Danny Oliver, gunned down in a two-county rampage last year, was honored by a small Sacramento County neighborhood where he made a difference. The ceremony honoring the Sacramento County sheriff’s deputy was held in grassy, green Pioneer Park in Old Foothill Farms to dedicate a bench and plaque.

Murder charge: Samantha Green was charged Friday with murder in the death of her newborn son, replacing a lesser manslaughter charge she faced last week. Green, 23, pleaded not guilty to the new charge in Yolo Superior Court.

Fine for food: The venerable Wall Street Journal still considers Sacramento under-the-radar and yet to achieve metropolitan status. However, the paper has singled out Sacramento for its food scene. Along with San Antonio, Spokane, Columbus and others, Sacramento was listed in its rundown of “6 Great Small Cities for Food Lovers.”

Fill the boot fundraiser: The Cameron Park Fire Department will hold its annual boot drive fundraiser today for the Firefighters Burn Institute. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., department representatives will solicit donations at three intersections in Cameron Park: Green Valley and Cambridge roads, Merrychase Drive and Cambridge Road, and Coach Lane and Cameron Park Drive.

Bad day for locals: All four of the region’s Division I basketball teams on Friday were defeated in their respective postseason tournament games. For Sacramento State, the Hornets’ men team lost 91-83 to Eastern Washington, and the CSUS women’s team fell 81-79 in overtime to Northern Colorado in in their Big Sky Conference semifinal games. For UC Davis, the men’s team fell short against Hawaii in the Big West Conference semifinals, 65-58, while the Aggie women’s team lost 61-47 against Cal State Northridge.
