Kudos to: Rhonda Farrell Peacock, school nurse
Accomplishment: Named school nurse of the year
Details: Peacock, a registered nurse, was selected for the honor by the California School Nurses Organization Northern Section. She works in the Manteca Unified School District. Peacock has been a school nurse in the district for 13 years.
Kudos to: Bill Pettis, Morgan horse owner
Accomplishment: Named American Morgan Horse Association’s man of the year
Details: Pettis, a Rio Linda resident, has been a Morgan booster for decades. His other activities include participation in the Buffalo Soldiers, a group that recalls the African-American Civil War regiment. He also has presented the Morgan horse to fairgoers watching the California State Fair’s Cavalcade of Horses.
Kudos to: Students at Lincoln Law School
Accomplishment: Successful food drive
Details: Contributed more than 3,000 pounds of nonperishable food items to Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services.
