Chef to appear at farmers market
A chef demonstration by Patrick Mulvaney, owner of Mulvaney’s B&L, is a highlight of the Midtown Farmers Market. Sponsored by the Midtown Association and Sutter Health, the market will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on 20th Street from J Street to Kayak Alley and will feature up to 90 farmer, grower and vendor booths offering fresh fruit, produce and gourmet or locally made goods. Road closures for parade
The city of Elk Grove will implement temporary traffic controls Saturday morning for the 60th annual Elk Grove Western Festival Parade. Road closures and detours will be in effect for parade staging beginning at 7 a.m. Roads used for the parade route will be closed from approximately 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until the parade has reached its end point at Elk Grove Regional Park, where the festival is held. Bockbier at Turn Verein
The Sacramento Turn Verein presents Bockbierfest, which celebrates the arrival of the traditional Bavarian beer that is dark in color and relatively high in alcohol content. Tour at honey fest
The sixth annual Water-Wise Landscape Tour takes place during the California Honey Festival, highlighting bee-friendly gardens at First and Main streets in Woodland. Derby featured at Cal Expo
