Today in Sacramento: Here’s what you need to know for Monday
Drain cleaning on freeway
The state Department of Transportation alerts motorists to expect alternating full-ramp closures and lane restrictions on the Capital City Freeway this week. Various locations affected include Arden Way to El Camino Avenue and Exposition Boulevard from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday. A crew is scheduled for drain cleaning, according to Caltrans. A signed detour will be in place.
Coffee with council member
Roseville City Councilman Scott Alvord will host a coffee with community members from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Bayside Church Blue Oaks cafe, 10000 Alantown Drive, Roseville. Residents can discuss city-related topics.
Boxing center touted
The city of Woodland plans to celebrate the relocation of its expanded boxing program at 5:30 p.m. at the Community and Senior Center, 2001 East St. The new boxing center is equipped with a regulation 20-foot boxing ring and a variety of punching bag and workout stations.
Chocolate Week begins
The third annual Old Sacramento Chocolate Week kicks off with a scavenger hunt starting at noon. Coordinated by the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, the week of activities includes mixers, trivia contests and creative pairings of chocolate and other foods at various Old Sac locales.
River Cats host Aces
The Sacramento River Cats play the Reno Aces at 7:05 p.m. at Raley Field.
