Healthy brain aging discussed

Charles DeCarli, director of the UC Davis Alzheimer’s Disease Center, will speak about healthy brain aging at a free public lecture at 6 p.m. at the UC Davis MIND Institute, 2825 50th St., Sacramento. In his lecture “What’s Healthy Brain Aging?” DeCarli will discuss the changes the brain undergoes over the course of a life and explain how understanding why this happens can help develop prevention strategies. World War I effects examined

Researcher Mel Russell will showcase America’s entrance into World War I 100 years ago and how it affected Yolo County. The presentation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Woodland Public Library, 300 First St. This program, which is free, will showcase the response and aid to the war from the Woodland community. Senior Resource Fair in Woodland

The annual Senior Resource Fair takes place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Woodland Community and Senior Center, 2001 East St., Woodland.
