Citrus Heights residents are weathering another power outage Wednesday afternoon that, at its peak, affected up to 3,000 Sacramento Municpal Utility District customers in the Greenback Lane area.
The outage began at 12:06 p.m. SMUD crews are trying to restore power and determine the cause, said Jonathan Tudor, SMUD spokesman.
As of 2:12 p.m., 432 customers remained without power.
Tudor said Wednesday’s incident is unrelated to other outages in the area that caused more than 30,000 customers to lose power earlier in the week. That outage was caused when a breaker failed at the Elkhorn Boulevard and Don Julio Boulevard substation.

Another outage was reported June 23. It was caused by a failure in an underground cable, Tudor said.
