The high temperature in Sacramento is expected to hit 79 degrees on Wednesday, which is 8 degrees above normal. The area is under the influence of a high pressure system.

The warmest day in Sacramento this week is predicted to be Friday when the mercury could hit 85 degrees. If the temperature reaches 85 degrees, that would tie the record set in 1923.

It would be quite a stretch for the area to hit 90 degrees. The earliest Sacramento has had a 90-plus degree day was March 26, 1988.
