Quite a mouthful: 13,000 procedures at free Cal Expo dental clinic

Final numbers from two days of free dental and oral health care at Cal Expo show that a significant amount of service was provided by volunteers.

The event put on by the California Dental Association called CDA Cares included extractions, fillings, cleanings, some partials to replace front teeth, limited root canals, limited dentures, oral health education and help in finding further dental care.

Here are the final numbers from the California Dental Association:

▪ 2,080 patients served

▪ 13,651 procedures performed

▪ 377 full and partial dentures and repairs

▪ 1,774 volunteers

▪ $2 million worth of care provided
