Good morning. Here’s what you need to know today:

Picture perfect April 1 weather: The day will be on the cool and breezy side. The National Weather Service is predicting beautiful spring weather for April 1 -- and that’s no joke. The forecast calls for 72 degrees under sunny skies in Sacramento. Looking ahead, the NWS foresees a slight chance of showers on Sunday.

Water primer: Which days can I water? Here’s a city-by-city guide. In addition to prohibited irrigation activities (contact your water agency for further details), Sacramento-area agencies’ residential watering days have been limited to the following, with some based on the last number of residents’ street addresses.

Vote for plastic bag ban: In a unanimous vote, the Sacramento City Council on Tuesday night approved a ban on single-use plastic bags that will effectively eliminate them from the checkout counters of all grocery stores, pharmacies and convenience stores within city limits beginning Jan. 1.

East Sac art: The McKinley Village housing development in East Sacramento is scheduled to get more than $400,000 worth of public art – privately funded by the project’s developers. The centerpiece of that collection will be a sculpture entitled “La Feuille” by local artist Marc Foster.

West Sac trail: On Tuesday, neighbors joined West Sacramento city and school officials, Yolo County leaders and local nonprofits to reopen a new-look Sycamore Trail.

Dogs find homes: Two dogs rescued from a South Korean meat farm have found homes after initially being passed over during an adoption event last week.

Playground funds to be considered: The West Sacramento City Council tonight will consider appropriating $180,000 in capital improvement program funds for Bryte Park to match $180,000 from the Walt Disney Co. to construct a playground.
