Your pets can get low-cost rabies vaccines, microchipping at Bradshaw shelter tonight
The Sacramento County Animal Shelter, 3839 Bradshaw Road, is offering low-cost vaccines and microchipping for pets tonight.
From 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sacramento County residents can get their animals rabies vaccinations for $6 and microchips for $19.
The clinics are offered the third Thursday of each month. See a schedule here.
Microchipping is highly recommended as it is among the most effective methods of getting pets reunited with owners if they escape or go missing.
A microchip recently came in handy in the case of Pilot the cat who was missing for 10 years and survived the Tubbs Fire in Santa Rosa. When he was brought in to the veterinarians with severe burns, they checked for a microchip and it led them to his family. Read the story here.
The shelter is also offering free adoptions for veterans all month long and has $25 for all others.
