Spring carnival coming to Del Paso Boulevard

The five-day spring carnival on Del Paso Boulevard will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The sixth annual event, sponsored by the Del Paso Boulevard Partnership and the Del Paso Business Community, will bring rides and games to the corner of Del Paso Boulevard and El Camino Avenue in North Sacramento. A portion of carnival proceeds will be used for beautification projects along the boulevard.

Golfing extravaganza planned at Haggin Oaks

The 40th annual Haggin Oaks Golf Expo starts a three-day run Friday at the golf complex, 3645 Fulton Ave. Known as “America’s Largest Demo Days,” the event allows golfers to test new equipment and accessories, launch monitors and tour tech vans. Attendees can also trade in old clubs and shop in the complex’s golf shop at the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Scheduled celebrity appearances include Michael O’Keefe (Danny Noonan from “Caddyshack”) at noon Saturday.

Garden Day scheduled at Sacramento Food Bank

Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services will host its third annual Garden Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at 3333 Third Ave. Local organizations and businesses involved in urban gardening, ecological landscaping, healthy eating, composting and more will be on hand. Visitors can tour the demonstration garden and watch a cooking or gardening demonstration at the free event.

Curtis Park home tour set for Saturday

Visitors can tour seven homes and gardens in Sacramento’s Curtis Park area Saturday at the neighborhood’s Home and Garden Tour. The 29th annual event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature homes in Bungalow and classic Tudor Revival styles. There will also be food trucks, refreshments and vintage cars.

Food truck fest returns to Sacramento marketplace

The SactoMoFo 8 food truck festival will take place from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Sacramento Outdoor Marketplace, 700 X St. The gathering will feature more than 35 trucks, live music and a beer garden, proceeds from which will benefit the Front Street Animal Shelter.

Scottish games, festival at Yolo County Fairgrounds

The Sacramento Valley Scottish Games and Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Yolo County Fairgrounds in Woodland. Festivities for “The Friendly Games,” which begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and conclude at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, will include bagpipers, drummers, Highland athletes, traditional and modern Celtic entertainment and more.
