AM Sacramento: Here’s what you need to know for Saturday
Good morning. Here’s what you need to know today, Saturday, May 2:
Slight cool-down: After reaching the 90s the past two days, temperatures in Sacramento should be more tolerable today with afternoon highs in the mid-to-high 80s. The National Weather Service forecasts the high temperature to hit 86 degrees today, with a low tonight expected to drop to 52 degrees.
Fair Oaks fest: The 66th annual Fair Oaks Fiesta is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Fair Oaks Village, 10210 Fair Oaks Blvd. Saturday’s parade theme is “Historic Route 66” featuring local groups, children’s clubs, the Bella Vista High School Marching Band and more. Sunday’s highlights are the Sun Run, a pancake breakfast and a classic car show.
Film festival events: The Sacramento International Film Festival continues this weekend with various events at the Delta King, 1000 Front St., concluding with the Sacramento Film Awards at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Day at the museums: Visitors can take part in Heritage Lollapalooza at various Folsom-area museums from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Each museum will offer special activities and tours. Participating museums and sites are: Folsom-El Dorado Historical Railroad, Folsom Powerhouse State Historic Park, Folsom History Museum, Big House Prison Museum of Folsom, Pioneer Village, the Murer House and the Clarksville Region Historical District.
NFL draft concludes: Rounds four through seven of the NFL draft will be conducted beginning at 9 a.m. today in Chicago.

More sports: ▪ The 141st running of the Kentucky Derby takes place today. Post time is scheduled at 3:24 p.m. from Louisville, Ky. Channel 3 will televise the race. Cal Expo will show live simulcasting of the Derby card. Doors will open at 7 a.m.
