Who will claim $100,000?: The Bassmaster Elite Series, an apex of competitive professional fishing, concludes its four-day run today in area waterways. The tournament casts off from Discovery Park at dawn with weigh-ins at 3 p.m. The champion will receive a $100,000 check today.

Early Highway 50 closures: Both directions of Highway 50 between El Dorado Hills Boulevard and Bass Lake Road will be closed for several hours this morning for blasting operations to facilitate El Dorado County’s Silva Valley Interchange Project. Eastbound lanes from Latrobe Road to Bass Lake Road will be closed from 6 to 8 a.m. and the eastbound onramp at El Dorado Hills Boulevard/Latrobe Road will be closed from 4:30 to 8 a.m. Westbound lanes from Bass Lake Road to El Dorado Hills Boulevard/Latrobe Road will be closed from 6 to 8 a.m. and the westbound onramp at Bass Lake Road will be closed from 4:30 to 8 a.m. While the closures are in place, traffic will be detoured via El Dorado Hills Boulevard, Serrano Parkway and Bass Lake Road.
Southside Park fest: The Fiesta en la Calle (translation: Street Party) will take place from noon to 6 p.m. today at Southside Park, Seventh and T streets in Sacramento. The free fiesta features musical and dance acts, a car show, food, drink and children’s activities.
Film festival concludes: The Sacramento International Film Festival concludes today at the Delta King, 1000 Front St., capped off by the Sacramento Film Awards at 7 p.m.
RT maintenance tonight: Beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m. today, the Sacramento Regional Transit District will begin light rail maintenance activity on the Blue Line and Gold Line that requires rail grinding. Rail grinding prevents wear and tear on light rail vehicle wheels, lessens noise, and provides a smoother ride for passengers, according to RT.
