Two-alarm fire damages Woodland business
Fire crews from several Yolo County departments responded to a two-alarm fire Friday morning at a Woodland business.
The fire was reported about 9 a.m. at Hollywood Nails and Spa in the 100 block of West Main Street after the owner arrived to open the business and found the building filled with smoke, according to a Woodland Fire Department news release.
Woodland firefighters arrived to find black smoke pouring out of the building. Encountering heavy fire, they requested a second alarm, summoning firefighters from the Davis, Willow Oak, UC Davis, West Sacramento and Yocha DeHe departments, as well as off-duty fire personnel from the city of Woodland, the news release said.
The fire was brought under control in about 35 minutes and crews cleared the scene by noon, after what were described as significant overhaul and salvage operations.
No injuries were reported, and crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to adjoining businesses, the new release said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
