Court’s website restored after weekend crash, prospective jurors can now check in for duty
Jurors rejoice: A computer system crash that was once going to affect the way prospective Sacramento Superior Court jurors had to check in Monday for their reporting times has been fixed, officials said, allowing prospective jurors to check in normally.
The court’s system went down Friday at 4:15 p.m., rendering both its website and main jury telephone line unavailable, said Kim Pedersen, the court’s public information officer on Saturday.
Pedersen said the court’s IT department worked to get the system working again by Sunday morning. The cause of the crash is unknown, she said.
Crashes like these are uncommon, and Pedersen said this has never happened in the time she has worked with the court.
Jurors were being asked to call the Jury Commissioner’s Office at 916-874-7775 for their reporting instructions, Pedersen said.
Now, prospective jurors can follow their original reporting instructions, Pedersen said.
Despite the crash, it will be “business as usual” Monday morning, Pedersen said. The doors will be open and staff will be at all courthouse facilities.
