Highway 50 reopened at Echo Summit after snow slides

Highway 50 was reopened at 5 p.m. Monday at Echo Summit after being closed for more than three hours due to a snow slide.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office initially said the highway could be closed all day.

One vehicle was reported stuck in the snow slide but was out as of 1:30 p.m., according to a tweet from the Sheriff’s Office.
