Body pulled from Sacramento River near Locke, deputies say

A body was pulled from the Sacramento River near Locke on Friday afternoon, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Walnut Grove Fire Department officers responded to reports of a body in the river near River Road and Twin Cities Road around 1:30 p.m., Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tess Deterding said.

When officers got the body to the shore, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Department took over the case.

Deterding said that the body is likely that of a human, and that deputies do not have reason to believe there are suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
