Highway 99 reopened after all lanes in both directions were closed
This is a developing story.
Highway 99 has reopened in both directions at Twin Cities Road on Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
All lanes were closed earlier this afternoon after a tractor hit a utility pole around 2:30 p.m., knocking down a phone line and breaking the pole, SMUD spokesman Chris Capra said. The lanes reopened around 4 p.m.
The power lines remained intact but were temporarily shut off for safety reasons, Capra said.
The Twin Cities Road exit is on the northern edge of Galt.
