Santa Claus takes a dip at Sacramento YMCA
Santa Claus made the trek from the North Pole to take a dip with Sacramento kids.
The Sacramento Central YMCA hosted its fifth annual Swim With Santa event Friday. Kids were welcome to bring their wish list and take pictures with Santa.
“The idea really came from wanting to have a family event for the community, and the uniqueness of being able to swim in the middle of winter, and then also add in Santa into the mix,” said Sacramento Central YMCA executive director, Danielle Buffalino.
Midway through the evening, Santa dove into the pool and swam with the kids. In addition to the swim, families could enjoy treats and make ornaments.
The swim was open to the public and cost $2 per person, but this year donations ensured the first 150 people got free admission.
“We’re lucky Santa graced us with his presence to be able to have this event,” Buffalino said.
According to Buffalino, Santa is actually a member at the Sacramento Central YMCA.
