Pedestrian ‘pinned’ under light-rail train near Arden Way critically injured, authorities say

A pedestrian was pinned beneath a light rail train Thursday evening near Arden Way in Old North Sacramento, suffering majoring injuries, according to the Sacramento Fire Department.

The train-vs.-pedestrian incident was reported just before 6:15 p.m. in the area of Arden Way and Del Paso Boulevard, and arriving crews “extricated, cared for and transported” a patient to a hospital with critical injuries, the Fire Department said in a tweet.

No update was available Friday on the victim’s status.

Sacramento Regional Transit tweeted Thursday that an incident was causing delays on the Blue Line between the Alkali Flat and Marconi light rail stations.
