Update: Two-alarm fire extinguished in south Sacramento with no injuries, authorities say

The Sacramento Fire Department has extinguished a structure fire that started Friday morning in south Sacramento and had required a second-alarm response.

The department said in a tweet about 7:50 a.m. that the fire, burning in the 5800 block of Stockton Boulevard, had been extinguished with no injuries reported.

The Fire Department responded to the blaze at 7:09 a.m., and the structure fire was upgraded to two alarms just before 7:30 a.m., the department said on Twitter.

Northbound Stockton Boulevard was closed between Lemon Hill Avenue and Fruitridge Road.

The cause of the fire will be investigated, the Fire Department says.
