Bicyclist, 34, killed in Galt vehicle collision Wednesday night, police say

A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday evening in Galt, police said.

Officers and medical personnel arrived to the scene of a vehicle-vs.-bike collision near West Stockton Boulevard and Live Oak Avenue around 7 p.m., the Galt Police Department said in news release.

The victim, a 34-year-old Galt man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The Galt Police Department says the investigation remains ongoing.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
