Rocklin firefighters had an unusual rescue call on Friday: A Spring View Middle School student whose arm was stuck in a hole in his desk.

The incident around 2 p.m. was documented in a Facebook post by the Rocklin Firefighters Local 3847.

Fire personnel first tried to use soap and oil to extract the student’s arm, but that was unsuccessful. Firefighters ultimately had to cut out a section of the desk in order to release pressure on the student’s elbow so the arm could slide out.

The student was uninjured and was able to return to class.

Spring View Middle School, in a comment on the Facebook post, wrote, “Thanks again Rocklin firefighters!”
