Highway 99 lanes reopen after crash between vehicle and motorcycle in Sacramento

Southbound lanes of Highway 99 were blocked just south of Highway 50 Friday morning after a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle. All lanes were open again around 7:20 a.m., according to Caltrans.

The accident happened around 5:45 a.m., according to CHP logs. As of 6:30 a.m., traffic cameras showed vehicles backed up on the Capital City Freeway for about a mile as well as the ramps from Highway 50 onto Highway 99. While the main lanes of Highway 99 were blocked, traffic moved past the area by using the merge lanes. Traffic was expected to linger in the area during the morning rush hour.
