Aircraft from Beale Air Force Base will perform a flyover Saturday as a thank you for first responders, health care workers and other essential workers, the base announced.
The flyover will cover the greater Sacramento metropolitan region, spanning from Grass Valley to Woodland.
“Beale Air Force Base salutes northern California healthcare workers, first responders, and other essential personnel on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19,” said Col. Andy Clark, installation commander at Beale AFB. “Thank you for your service and sacrifice.”
Aircraft from the 9th Reconnaissance Wing will take off at noon and fly over Grass Valley and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital by 12:05 p.m. and then Marysville and Yuba City by 12:10 p.m.
Lincoln, Roseville, Folsom, Citrus Heights and Rancho Cordova will have a chance to see the aircraft between 12:15 to 12:20 p.m.
They will then flyover Sacramento, heading for Davis, and then Vacaville and Fairfield hospitals.
The last stop will be Woodland and Gridley at around 12:50 p.m.
“We want everyone to enjoy the flyover but ask the public to practice good safety by maintaining physical distancing,” the base said.
