In this phase of California’s reopening plan, here’s what can open in Sacramento County
Sacramento County is now moving through Phase 2 of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s reopening plan for California.
Many sectors from hospitality to entertainment to sporting events still remain idle and residents still have to wait to throw a party or go to the gym.
The state’s shelter order is still in place and residents are still encouraged to stay home. But shops, restaurants and businesses are throwing open doors and turning on the lights as the county continues to reopen sectors of the economy previously closed to slow the spread of COVID-19.
What’s open?
Retail and storefronts with fewer than 10 employees can reopen, but must follow strict social distancing, wear face coverings and use personal protective equipment as appropriate.
Shopping malls and strip malls will be allowed to reopen starting Friday.
Businesses that supply and support essential businesses can open by appointment only.
Arborists, gardeners and landscapers, electricians, exterminators and plumbers can resume service, but must follow strict social distancing, wear face coverings and use personal protective equipment as appropriate.
Agriculture, food and beverage cultivation can resume.
Restaurant dine-in service returns, with modifications:
▪ Fewer patrons. Tables must be spaced at least 6 feet apart.
▪ Household members dine together.
▪ Tables and other high-contact surfaces are frequently cleaned.
▪ No cash transactions if possible.
▪ Staff must wear face coverings.
▪ Disposable menus.
Child care, daycare and family daycare services can open once providers implement social distancing strategies and employ more stringent cleaning and disinfecting.
Providers must modify procedures for how children are picked up and dropped off and implement screening procedures when children arrive at a facility.
Adequate staff-to-child ratios must be maintained in accordance with U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance.
Dental preventative care can resume.
Telework is encouraged, but small offices can reopen when telework is not possible. Offices must employ social distancing, use personal protective equipment and face coverings as appropriate.
Car washes, outdoor gyms, pet grooming and yoga studios can reopen.
Tanning facilities can open, but businesses must employ strict physical distancing, wear personal protective equipment and face coverings as appropriate.
Outdoor art galleries, museums and theaters can also reopen with multiple skipped seating.
Face coverings are required. Venues must be deep cleaned; high-contact surfaces must be frequently cleaned.
Cash-free transactions are preferred and 6 feet of social distancing is required
Only drive-through religious services are allowed under Phase 2 of Sacramento County’s reopening plan.
Libraries can operate with curbside pickup service.
Parks and golf courses in Sacramento County remain open. Outdoor recreation is allowed with proper social distancing. Avoid congregating in groups. Wash hands often.
What’s not?
Hair and nail salons, tattoo parlors and indoor gyms
Bars, wineries, tasting rooms and lounges that do not offer sit-down, dine-in meals
Nightclubs
Indoor movie theaters, gaming, gambling and arcade venues, sports arenas, theme parks indoor museums and gallery spaces, libraries and zoos.
Concert venues
Live audience sports
Festivals
Hotels and other lodging for leisure and tourism
Community centers, public pools, playgrounds, barbecue and picnic areas
Religious services and cultural ceremonies that are indoor and/or have gatherings of more than 10 people
Parties and gatherings of more than 10 people
