El Dorado County authorities are looking for a 62-year-old man, a retired Bay Area fire chief, who has reportedly been missing since Saturday.

Merlin Kelly Turner was last seen leaving Browns Valley in Yuba County and was believed to be traveling back to the El Dorado County area, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. He is known to frequent the Ice House and Sly Park Lake recreational areas, according to the post.

Turner drives a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck, California license plate No. 7U74029, which has Richmond Fire Department stickers on the back. Turner is a retired chief of the department, which also shared his information on social media.

Turner’s daughter, Chaz Green, in a public Facebook post Tuesday, wrote that data from Turner’s cellphone show he may have been in Folsom as of early Sunday morning. A volunteer search effort met at Folsom City Hall on Tuesday evening. Green wrote that her father’s disappearance is “extremely out of character for him.”
