The meat is on in Woodland. A new Arby’s hopes to open in late summer
A new Arby’s will be coming to Woodland, making it the first location for the national fast-food chain in Yolo County. While there isn’t a clear timeline due to pandemic related delays, franchisee Anoop Kang hopes the opening will take place in late August or September.
The Arby’s will be located at 85 W. Court St. near a McDonald’s, in a building previous occupied by Jimboy’s Tacos.
Throughout the opening process, there have been delays and complications related to the shelter-in-place order and many vendors working from home. However, upon opening, Kang hopes that people will feel comfortable coming to Arby’s. The restaurant will also feature a drive-thru.
Kang, the CEO of Kang Foods, LLC, in Fremont, has opened 4 other Northern California Arby’s locations alongside his brother, Bikram Kang.
The Woodland Arby’s will be designed with more modern styles, using stainless steel and subway tile. Additionally, the restaurant is expected to bring about 40 new jobs to the Woodland area.
Kang plans to have the new location follow all standard coronavirus precautions set by the local government and Arby’s.
“We’re going to do the best we can and hopefully we’ll go over the top even above what’s required to make sure everyone feels comfortable and everyone feels safe,” Kang said.
