Sacramento jury convicts repeat indecent exposure offender of child sexual assault
A repeat indecent exposure offender has been convicted of child sexual assault, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.
James Nelson has previously been convicted of indecent exposure offenses against four different victims in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
In 2017, Nelson entered the 11-year-old victim’s bedroom while staying at her family’s home. One night, Nelson entered the victim’s bedroom wearing just a robe, then exposed himself to her and subsequently sexually assaulted her.
Nelson faces a maximum sentence of eight years and eight months in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. in Judge Michael Savage’s courtroom.
