Highway 50 reopens after overturned truck closed lanes, CHP says

A crash that closed eastbound lanes of Highway 50 at the Capital City Freeway for hours Wednesday morning has been cleared, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision involved an overturned truck and was reported shortly before 8 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol’s activity log.

Images from a Caltrans traffic camera showed a box truck on its side near the Capital City Freeway overpass, with a tow truck and ambulance at the scene as of 8:15 a.m. Eastbound Highway 50 traffic was backed up on the W-X corridor.

All lanes reopened before noon, traffic cameras showed.
