After call, Rocklin officer reenacts one his favorite childhood games: Mario Kart

A video shows a Rocklin police officer bringing Mario Kart to life after responding to a call about potential vandalism.

“Officers Platina and Guillermo were dispatched to one of our local schools regarding a possible vandalism call, involving juveniles with neon lights playing on the blacktop,” the Rocklin Police Department wrote on Facebook on September 2, 2020. “After determining it was some of our community members playing Go Kart basketball, Officer Guillermo decided to join in on the fun and reenact one of his favorite childhood video games, Mario Kart!”

Mario Kart is a series of go-kart-style racing video games by Nintendo as spin-offs from its trademark Super Mario franchise.

The video shows Guillermo driving in a really small vehicle lit up by neon lights.

“How come yours ain’t going as fast as theirs, man?” an onlooker jokes on camera. Then, Guillermo sharply turns and rolls out of the vehicle.
