Levee fire in West Sacramento escalated to two-alarm before containment
The West Sacramento Fire Department contained a fire Tuesday afternoon that burned 5 acres near Riverbank Elementary School, according to a social-media post by the department.
The flames began around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday on the levee adjacent to Fountain Drive, the agency said on Twitter. The fire was escalated to two alarms, they said.
Crews on the scene reported that the flames had been contained before 3 p.m. No injuries or structure damage was reported.
