Pedestrian killed in early morning hit-and-run in Sacramento, police say
A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision early Monday morning in Sacramento, police said.
Officers responded around 4 a.m. to reports of a seriously injured pedestrian in the roadway near Roseville Road and Marconi Circle, in the Ben Ali neighborhood, the Sacramento Police Department said in a news release.
Fire personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene, police said.
The involved vehicle fled the scene. The incident is being investigated by detectives, who are continuing to process the scene for evidence and also canvassing for potential surveillance video.
No suspect vehicle description was available as of Monday morning, the department said.
Roseville Road was closed at Marconi earlier in the morning, but all roadways were back open around 10 a.m., police said.
