Lights back on: Brief outage affected 4,000 customers in Oak Park, south Sacramento, SMUD says

An unplanned outage briefly cut off electricity to more than 4,000 customers of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District living and working in Oak Park and other neighborhoods south of Highway 50, according to the utility’s outage page.

Within 20 minutes, according to the utility, power was restored.

SMUD said 4,168 homes and businesses lost power around 9:55 a.m., according to its outage page.

It’s not immediately known what caused the outage. Neighborhoods affected included Oak Park, Curtis Park, Fruitridge Pocket and North City Farms.
