Two rescued from Cosumnes River Preserve near Galt, authorities say
Crews rescued two people from the Cosumnes River Preserve near Galt on Wednesday evening, authorities said.
A rescue boat, assisted by ground crews and a California Highway Patrol helicopter, located and transported both victims to shore, the Cosumnes Fire Department said in tweets between about 7:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Crews first made “voice contact” around 8 p.m., then reached the victims by boat within about a half-hour.
Rescue teams brought the two people to an ambulance waiting at the preserve’s visitor center in Galt, officials said. They were not seriously injured.
